Alessio Cavatore is the co-founder and CEO of River Horse (Europe) Ltd, a company specializing in the production of original board games, often funded through crowdfunding campaigns.
His career began with studies in Biology at the University of Turin. He later worked as a translator for Games Workshop in Nottingham before moving into game design. With over 25 years of experience in the field, he has made significant contributions to the game systems and expansions of major titles such as Warhammer Fantasy Battles, Warhammer 40,000, and The Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game.
In recent years, River Horse has also focused on creating games for a younger audience, such as Labyrinth, inspired by Jim Henson’s iconic film and featuring cooperative gameplay, and Tails of Equestria, a narrative game set in the My Little Pony universe.
More recently, Alessio sold River Horse to Mantic in order to focus on his work as a consultant for various companies in the industry, dedicating himself to his passion for developing game systems such as Bolt Action for Warlord Games and The Ghost in the Shell RPG for Mantic.
