Davide L. Marescotti

He was born in October 1979 and, following his passion, attended an Art High School. During and after his studies, he took part in several comics courses and schools (Humpty Dumpty, ColoriAmo, Scuola Chiavarese del Fumetto) before apprenticing with Bonelli illustrator Giovanni Talami.

Over the years, he has collaborated and worked as an illustrator for several Italian publishing houses, including:

• Rizzoli New Media: where he created animations for the graphic adventure Dylan Dog Horror Luna Park(1999)
• Asterion Press: internal illustrations for IV Reich (2009) for Sine Requie
• Edicolors: cover and internal illustrations for Il Sogno di Naarom (2009), later becoming cover artist for the Mondi Segreti series, also illustrating the volumes Acqua, Aria, and Alice nel paese delle meraviglie (all 2010), as well as several educational booklets
• WildBoar: illustrations for Alice in Steamland (2010), Il Bestiario di Eymerich (2012), and the cover for I Giochi di Cthulhu (2012)
• Dreamlord Press: full illustration of the Italian editions of FATE – Core System (2014) and FATE – System Toolkit (2015), including covers
• Uhrwerk Verlag: cover and internal illustrations for the German edition of FATE – Core System (2015)
• Raven Distribution: cover for Casi irrisolti - Conti in Sospeso e Blackwater Creek (2016), internal illustrations for Il Gran Grimorio dei Miti di Cthulhu (2017), Pulp Cthulhu (2022), Orrore sull’Orient Express (2023), and Six Bullets System – Spaghetti Western (2023), for which he also created the GM screen. He also illustrated the thirteenth book in the Lupo Solitario series, I Signori della Pestilenza di Ruel (2018), and designed cover and internal logos for the Italian editions of Onyx Path role-playing games, including Wraith – Presente: l’Oblio, Changeling: Il Sogno, and La Mano Nera – Una guida alla Tal’Mahe’Ra (2024)
• Med Faktory and MVP: graphic editor for the comic series The Darkwinged (since 2018), also creating the back cover for The Darkwinged – Bible 1 (2017), the cover for Io sono Wild Ruby – A The Darkwinged Story, and internal illustrations for The Darkwinged VS The Dark World of Comics (2021)
• Rogue Planet Press: internal illustrations for Steam Powered Dream Engines (2018), Fantastic Savannahs and Jungles (2019), Of Poets, Spies and Unearthliness – Otherworldly Tales in the Times of Shakespeare and Marlowe (2022), Dickensian Steamfantasy – A Very Different 1800s Urban Fantasy/Horror/Sci-fi Anthology(2023), and Exomoons (2024)
• Barn Owl: internal illustrations for Six Bullets System Framework and Storie della Frontiera (2024)

He has also collaborated with the film industry, creating the poster for The Mythos Murders by the American F.M. Sawyer Productions (2025).

In addition, he has worked across various artistic fields, expanding his experience with different styles and subjects (tattoo designs, portraits, murals, trompe-l'œil, short film screenplays, album covers for bands, etc.).

He has taught in several comics courses in municipal institutions in Genoa (Municipio IX Levante), public schools (Bernardo Strozzi middle school, Giovanni Palli and Aldo Fabrizi primary schools), and at the Forma institute in Chiavari, within the Scuola Chiavarese del Fumetto and Nuova Scuola Chiavarese del Fumetto, teaching Basic Drawing, Professional Comics, and Master-level courses.
