Costume Designer and Artist Gabriele Stazi to attend Play 2026

From a young age, Gabriele Stazi has cultivated a deep passion for fantasy culture and role-playing games. He learned the art of leatherworking to bring his creative visions to life. This passion led him to collaborate with both the Italian and Hollywood film industries, contributing to productions such as Ben-HurRomulus, and Pirates of the Caribbean.

His work, which blends traditional leather craftsmanship with the worlds of fantasy and comics, has received international recognition. However, Gabriele is much more than a costume expert: he is an avid LARPer, role-player, and video game enthusiast.

After founding The Leprechaun in 2006 and working for years in the film industry, he moved to Denmark (where he still lives) to work as a designer and Head of Development at Epic Armoury. There, among various projects, he led the development of Yoremade, a collection of over 120 garments and accessories for LARP and historical reenactment, strongly inspired by fashion from the High Middle Ages to the Renaissance.

In February 2025, together with costume designer (and wife) ((no, she didn’t force me to include this)) Francesca Trani, he founded Perseus Design Studio, a creative studio specializing in art direction, costume and stage design, and creative support for film and the music industry. The studio oversees artistic direction and creative production for bands such as Sabaton, Wind Rose, Twilight Force, Dark Funeral, and others.
