Game Designer will be at Play 2026
Vital Lacerda, born in Lisbon, is one of the most internationally renowned game designers in the board game industry. After studying Marketing and Advertising and spending nearly 15 years in the communication field as an art director and later as a creative director, in 2006 he chose to pursue a career as a freelance graphic designer.
However, it is in game design that he finds his most authentic form of expression: his games are known for their strategic depth, elegant mechanics, and strong integration between theme and gameplay.
Over the years, he has designed titles that have become true benchmarks for enthusiasts, such as Vinhos, Lisboa, On Mars, and Kanban EV, helping to shape and innovate the complex eurogame genre.
His most recent works include Inventions: Evolution of Ideas and House of Fado, while The Great Library is expected in 2026.
