A brand-new and reimagined area, developed through the collaboration of several partners and organizations.
One of this year’s major additions is the History Games area, bringing together the projects of Play History, BG Storico, and several associations and publishers dedicated to historical games, offering a playful perspective on memory and history.
In particular, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of women’s suffrage in Italy, we wanted to dedicate a place of honor to Votes for Women and its designer, Tory Brown, who will be our guest throughout the entire festival. Alongside this title, visitors will also find several other historical games deeply connected to this theme, including Molly House, La fuga di Velia, Viole nel Fango, Stanche di guerra, and Le parole delle donne.
This year, Play History will also feature two dedicated sub-sections: one focused on educational games, and another dedicated to games developed within academic contexts and research environments.
More broadly, the entire area will present a rich selection of carefully curated historical games, all available for attendees to discover and try with the support of our demo team.
Finally, several important new titles and projects will also be featured, including Banditi!, Dagli scioperi all’insurrezione, Il trono di carte, i nidi di ragno, La corsa per Trieste.
