WARPIT at Play 2026: the beating heart of miniatures, wargames, and three-dimensional creativity
Play – the Games Festival 2026 brings WARPIT to life: a space dedicated to three-dimensional gaming in every form — miniatures, painting, sculpture, modelling, wargames, dioramas, prototypes, and pure experimentation.
WARPIT is more than an exhibition area. It's a genuine meeting point for associations, designers, artists, creators, and hobbyists who share one passion: playing.
Here, gaming meets education, and community grows through open tables, continuous demos, hands-on workshops, meet-the-designer sessions, and conversations between veterans and newcomers alike.
For three days, WARPIT will be a living, constantly evolving space where you can try indie games and wargames, discover prototypes, watch live painting and sculpting sessions, join modelling workshops, marvel at spectacular dioramas, and take part in major narrative and competitive events.
Among the many groups taking part: DISAGIO28 with IndiePark and its independent games; the Independence Warpit area dedicated to wargame and non-combat prototypes; Legio Felsinea and Asgard with non-stop demos of Blood Bowl, Horus Heresy, and Warhammer 40K; Mordheim Italia with narrative campaign, tournament, and open tables; Sito dell'Anello; Guardia Bizantina; La Tana degli Orchi; Bivacco Vicenza with a major presence spanning RPGs, demos, and support for the wargame areas; Dragonwolf Team; Araldi with their painting activities and Beer Painting; and Uninerd with events and panels dedicated to Trench Crusade.
Miniature artists and craftspeople will also have a prominent place in the space, with sculptors and miniature makers working live — sharing techniques, creative processes, and the details of an art form where precision, imagination, and personality come together.
Hands-on workshops will be available for anyone who wants to dive straight in: practical modelling, kitbashing, indie event design, and sessions aimed at spreading and growing this wonderfully rebellious hobby.
On Saturday 23 May, the spotlight falls on the mega-game of From Ulm To Waterloo, organised to mark the anniversary of the Battle of Aspern-Essling — an unmissable occasion for historical wargaming enthusiasts.
An area built for those who paint, build, imagine, and battle… and equally for those who simply want to be surprised and discover something new.
The programme is below — and still growing!
