A veteran player and educator, Marino Carpignano has been active in the world of abstract games for over 20 years. He runs www.pergioco.net, Italy’s leading site on abstract strategy games, and developed a player rating system still in use today.
He organizes the PerGioco Masters online tournament, with over 200 active players, and has won multiple medals at the Mind Sports Olympiad Grand Prix (2022–2025).
His YouTube segment on abstract games, hosted on Incanta Dado, is popular among strategy fans.
He is also the author of Il Manuale dei Giochi di Tavoliere (2023–2024), a two-volume, 900-page guide to board games, rules, and variants.
