Alberto Dal Lago

He is an Italian illustrator working in the fantasy and horror genres, both in games (Wizards of the Coast™, Paizo Publishing™, Privateer Press, Ghostfire Gaming) and children’s publishing (Mondadori, Lisciani Giochi, Arch Stone Books, Edizioni Piemme, Salani, and Gainsworth Publishing).
He is the official cover artist for the iconic Lone Wolf™ gamebook series, created by Joe Dever and published in Italy by Raven Distribution / Vincent Books. In 2011, he introduced his horror-themed alter ego, Blake Malcerta, under which he has published works selected for the Infected by Art catalogue and featured internationally in collections like The Best Horror of the Year – Vol. 8.
He has worked with Ares Games on covers for the Sword & Sorcery board game series, contributed to both editions of the “Lords for the Ring” calendars, and collaborated with Sergio Bonelli Editore. Notably, he illustrated a double-page spread for a special Dampyr issue presented at Lucca Comics & Games 2018 and contributed to the 2022 full-colour Dampyr Color issue La Cineteca del Mistero. Since 2022, he has been the official cover artist for the Dampyr Speciale series.
His artwork features in Fantasy Riders for Panini Comics España, and he was the cover artist and illustrator for The Necronomicon Gamebook series created by Valentino Sergi. He has also collaborated with Scuderia Ferrari, illustrating official posters for the Sakhir and Monza F1 GPs in 2021 (including the creation of the Shape Another Future logo) and for the Belgian GP in 2022.
That same year, through the agency Tiwi, he contributed artwork to an episode of the second season of In Compagnia del Lupo, presented by Carlo Lucarelli on SkyArte.
He works with Grim Moon Studio on game-related illustration projects and, since 2022, has been represented by the TomatoFarm agency. Through them, he has created cards for Immutable Games, Second Dinner/Marvel Snap, and Disney Lorcana.
Also in 2022, he was awarded the Drago d’Oro at the Fantastika biennial. In 2024, he painted the cover for Stefano Vietti’s Dragonero novel, part of the Romanzi a Fumetti series by Bonelli, and illustrated the cover for the Dungeons & Dragons sticker album published by Panini.
Since 2012, he has been teaching Digital Illustration and Concept Art at the Scuola Internazionale di Comics in Padova.
