This talk aims to explore the process of worldbuilding in board games, with a particular focus on Nova Aetas Chronicles, the narrative universe developed by Ludus Magnus Studio. Through an in-depth analysis of the narrative and mechanical choices made across the studio’s various titles, the session will show how constructing an interconnected universe can enrich the gaming experience and ensure narrative coherence across different genres and historical periods.
The goal is to offer insights into how storytelling and game design can work together to create immersive, engaging worlds — sparking the imagination of board game enthusiasts, storytellers, and developers alike.
