Andrea Angiolino

Andrea Angiolino, born in Roma in 1966, is a journalist and game designer with an extensive career spanning radio, TV, magazines, advertising, and the internet.
He has designed numerous board games, many of which have been translated into over 15 languages and awarded in Italy and abroad.
His most notable Game Designs include: Wings of War (co-designed with Pier Giorgio Paglia) – now published as Wings of Glory by Ares Games & BlacKnight; Sails of Glory (co-designed with Andrea Mainini, Ares Games); Fantozzi Batti Lei (Ravensburger); Storie a Bivi (Ludic); Paradiso (co-designed with Andrea Mainini, Top Hats); and Safari Golo (Oliphante 2).
His RPG contributions include I Cavalieri del Tempio (co-authored with Boschi, Carocci, Casa, Giuliano, E.Elle 1991) and Orlando Furioso – Originally published by the Municipality of Rome (1993) to distribute in schools and libraries, now re-released by Raven.
A Prolific Author & Educator, Angiolino has written around 40 books, most of them on gaming, including: Dizionario dei Giochi (with Beniamino Sidoti, Unicopli), Che cos'è un gioco da tavolo & Un secolo di giochi (Carocci), Giochiamo insieme con carta e matita (Sonda), Storie di Giochi (Gallucci).
He has also written interactive gamebooks, such as: In Cerca di Fortuna (Plesio); In Cerca di Angelica (Dedalo/Vincent Books); I Misteri delle Catacombe (with Francesca Garello & Domenico Di Giorgio, Parapiglia)
Angiolino has worked as a Consultant for Luneur, Rome’s historic amusement park, during its reopening preparations and is a regular contributor to Wikiradio (Rai Radio Tre), where he tells stories about games and toys. He is also a documentary producer for RAI and Lucca Comics & Games on gaming history, a contributor to Treccani writing about games and comics, and a Game Design Instructor & Professor of Game Culture at NABA – Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti (Rome)
His Awards include: "Expert Game Inventor" – awarded by the Italian Ministry of Education (1999); Best of Show – Lifetime Achievement Award (Lucca Games 2004); Personality of the Year in Gaming (2007); and Gradara Ludens Award (2022)
