Fabrizio Russo

The life of Fabrizio Russo has always been filled with a passion for drawing and colour.
After graduating from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milano, he accidentally sent his CV to the wrong place and was called in by a shop that sold 3D board games and needed a miniature painting.
From that moment on, he never stopped painting miniatures.
Thanks to a travelling painting competition run by one of the industry’s leading publishers, he began to adapt his theoretical knowledge to the stunning creations arriving from across Europe.
It was during that first gold medal win that his nickname “Rusto” was born — thanks to a typo of his surname.
His personal style has always set his work apart, and his artistic research is ongoing. His motto, #colorhasmemory, reflects his commitment to sharing techniques with anyone interested in developing their own unique vision of colour.
He has collaborated with some of the finest producers in the industry — and big surprises are on the way. You can follow him on Facebook (@rustoart) and Instagram (@rusto_art).
Throughout the years, he has continued to challenge and improve himself, often competing in painting contests — sometimes losing, but thankfully, winning a great deal too.
Among his many awards and Best of Show titles: Best of Fantasy, World Model Expo Stresa; Best of Fantasy, Athens Show; Two-time Best of Show, Monte San Savino Show; Gran Maestro title.
Thanks especially to those who believed in him, he still gets to do the most beautiful job in the world.
And the best part? He’s still evolving. Amazing.
